Free Victim Compensation Program (VOC) Therapy for Child Abuse, Homicide, & Domestic Violence

Matthew Lindgren provides free Victim Compensation Program (VOC) therapy to adults and children who witnessed child abuse, domestic violence, and homicide in Oakland, San Leandro, Montclair, and Hayward.

FREE COUNSELING for Crime Victims

You or your child may qualify for up to 40 sessions of FREE COUNSELING through the California Victim Compensation Program (VCP) if you were the victim or witness of a violent crime such as domestic violence, child abuse, assault, or murder. If you interacted with police or child protective services, you may qualify for counseling even if the incident did not result in a conviction.

In California, it is considered child abuse when a child witnesses domestic violence. Every child who resides in foster care qualifies for this funding as a result of the crime that resulted in his or her placement.

Here are a list of some examples of common crimes that qualify:

  • Assault with a deadly weapon
  • Battery (when there is injury or threat of injury)
  • Child abuse
  • Child sexual assault
  • Child endangerment and abandonment
  • Domestic violence
  • Driving under the influence
  • Gang violence
  • Hit and run
  • Vehicular manslaughter
  • Murder
  • Robbery
  • Sexual assault
  • Stalking
  • Sexual battery
  • Unlawful sexual intercourse (where there is injury or threat of injury)
  • Terrorism
  • Other crimes that result in physical injury or a threat of physical injury to the victim

I work extensively with the Victim Compensation Program.  I can help you determine if you qualify for the program and help you apply.

The Victim Compensation Program is also known by the names Victims of Crime - VOC and Victim Witness.
